KTC’s Route 66 Tour travels as much of old Route 66 as is practical. Entry to all must see attractions such as The Cowboy Hall of Fame and Will Rogers Memorial are included.There are also optional group meals at Route 66 icons such as Peggy Sue’s 50’s Diner and the Big Texan (Home of the 72oz steak) Along the way we make several side trips and detours:
Las Vegas – No visit to the USA would be complete without a visit to the world entertainment capital and the Grand Canyon – One of wonders of the world – we will visit the West Rim off the National Park to take in its breath-taking sites.
Route 66 Start/End Point
Our RV Park is at the Hollywood Casino, Joliet, located around 20 miles from the city. Your tour leaders will organise a trip by train into central Chicago to view the Route 66 start/end points.
Route 66 Hall of Fame
The group will stop for several hours at Pontiac en-route to/from Chatham IL. We visit the Route 66 Hall of Fame and Museum; view the many Route 66 murals around town and the bus and Van belonging to Route 66 Artist Bob Waldmire.
St Louis Missouri
Chain of Ponds Bridge
Must sees at St Louis include the Arch and on Old Route 66 The Chain of Rocks Bridge and Ted Drew’s Frozen Custard – a local iconic sweet made with real eggs!!
Billed as Jessie James hideout it is another must see on Route 66. It is on this section we stop to view the world’s largest Rocking Chair at Fanning
At Oklahoma local attractions include the National Cowboy Hall of Fame, Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial and The Softball Hall of Fame.
At Claremore the group will visit the Will Rogers Memorial honouring the famous 1930’s cowboy, movie star, performer and social commentator.
Big Texan Steak House & Cadillac Ranch
Here we have an optional group dinner at the Big Texan Steak House. You can have a 72 oz steak with all the trimmings FREE if you eat it in under an hour. Amarillo is also home to the Cadillac Ranch an artistic display not far from our campground.
Santa Rosa, New Mexico
Santa Rosa Route 66 Auto Museum
On this tour you will see the remnants of many Route 66 towns that did not survive the arrival of the freeway. However, Santa Rosa is one town that did survive. The Auto Museum is privately owned and features hotrods, custom cars and restored vintage cars.
Petrified Forest National Park
Located just off Route 66 the park features a colourful array of fossilized logs from pre-dinosaur days
The Grand Canyon, Arizona
We deviate off Route 66 to visit one of the wonders of the world. Our campground is within the National Park South Rim. Shuttle buses regularly depart from the entrance providing free transport to the various viewing points.
Las Vegas, Nevada
No visit to this part of the world would be complete without a visit to the world’s entertainment capital. Join your tour leaders as they explore the strip or downtown ending up at Freemont Street for the Laser Light Show.
Mother Road Museum & California Route 66 Museum
These are the start end points on a 36 miles self drive Route 66 tour from Barstow to Victorville . For many the highlight will be the Group Breakfast at Peggy Sues 1950’s Diner

Our RV Park is located at Anaheim not far from Disney Land and the many other attractions.
Welcome/Farewell dinners are held here. The plaque marking the start/end point of Route 66 is located at Santa Monica some distance from our campground and is best reached from LAX hotels.
