This tour of Alaska and Northern Canada has been personally designed by Athol and Diane Greentree. They have been organising and escorting motorhome tours for over 10 years. Our Alaskan tour is full of amazing scenery and wildlife sightings. Almost everyone on past tours have reported seeing animals such as bison, moose and bears with some very close up encounters. It’s not all about the wildlife and we do find time for some shopping and included group dinners and pizza nights. Most enjoy watching the girls do the Can-Can at Diamond Tooth Gerties in Dawson city and socialising at the organised group activities and let’s not forget those informal happy hours and get togethers which is what makes a group motorhome tour so enjoyable.
BANFF NATIONAL PARK
During your stay at Banff take the opportunity to get off the main highway and travel the very scenic Bow Valley Parkway. A group dinner at a local restaurant is included at this tourist hot spot.
LAKE LOUISE, ALBERTA
Without question Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful places in North America.

Alaska’s 2nd largest city has a diverse range of shops and galleries selling native art, pottery and jewellery. For many a visit to North Pole and Santa’s village will be at the top of the list during our two night stay. Your tour leaders will organise an included group three hour trip on the Riverboat Discovery. During the trip we will visit an Indian Village, Sled Dog Centre and watch a float plane take off.
DENALI NATIONAL PARK
The group will dry camp in the National Park. The park is located 250 miles south of the Arctic Circle. The park extends to 6 million acres and travel in the park is restricted beyond the Savage River, requiring use of the park transportation system. A range of optional park tours is available. Normally bears, moose and other wildlife can be viewed from the coach.
With a population of 285,000, Anchorage is the largest city is the State of Alaska. The city has some 200 parks and 120 miles of trails, moose and other wildlife sightings are quite common, bike rentals are available. The Alaskan Native Heritage Centre is well worth a visit and historical tours of the city are available.
TOP OF THE WORLD & KLONDIKE HIGHWAYS
From Anchorage we travel through to Chicken Alaska and join the Top of the World Highway through to Dawson City. Much of this area is remote wilderness with spectacular scenery. From Dawson city travel though to Whitehorse is on the Klondike Highway a route well used by miners seeking gold.
Chicken is a popular stop on the Taylor Highway. That may have something to do with the fact it is one of the few places you can buy fuel on this road. We have an included town tour which includes “Trisha’s School House’ as featured in the book by Ann Purdy. Later you can spend some time at the Chicken Creek Saloon the best bar in town, in fact the only bar in town.
At Dawson City a group visit to Diamond Tooth Gertie’s Gambling Hall will be arranged. This relic of the gold rush days features regular nightly can-can shows and serves great food. Gertie’s is run by KVA a local not for profit organisation. Access across the river to the start of the highway is by vehicle ferry. No bridges in this remote area.
For those that like to get away from busy city life the Cassiar Highway has it all. Very remote and very scenic with the nearest McDonalds a good two days drive away.
